Pat Thomas "How Many Times" 45 (Parkside Records)

Regular price $ 12.00

Released on Parkside Records and out now.

Growing up in the '60s in New Orleans, Patricia Thomas was surrounded by great music.  Her mother would be cooking while Lee Dorsey, Allen Toussaint and Fats Domino kept the kids company.  Like many families, Pat grew up in the church.  She joined the gospel choir at a young age and has sung gospel and jazz her entire life.  R&B and Soul were always in her bag but not her specialty, until now.

"If You Want To Leave (Then Go)" is a tune written by Boog and Colton Henrikson (guitarist -Johnny Ruiz & The Escapers).  At some point if you aren't wanted, it's better to cut your losses and admit defeat, no matter how much it hurts.  Recorded by Masino at Penrose Recordings, this tune is one woman's plea for respect.  Give it up or turn her loose, she will miss him but has to move on!
"How Many Times" is a reinvented cover of the Shades Of Dawn single of the same name.  Stripped down and turned into a heavy "beat ballad," this one is for Sunday cruises and showcases Pat's talent at its most expressive.
